Peningkatan Daya Saing Umkm Melalui Pelatihan Basic English Conversation Dalam Menghadapi Kunjungan Wisata Industri Dan Pembeli Asing
Abstract
Globalisasi dan tren wisata industri membuka peluang besar bagi UMKM untuk memperluas pasar hingga ke tingkat internasional. Namun, keterbatasan kompetensi bahasa Inggris pada sumber daya manusia (SDM) menjadi hambatan utama dalam menjalin komunikasi dengan tamu maupun pembeli asing. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan Basic English Conversation bagi karyawan dan pemilik UMKM pabrik tahu di Desa Pabuaran, Subang, Jawa Barat. Metode pelatihan menggunakan pendekatan English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT), dan pendekatan komunikatif melalui simulasi peran (role-play). Materi difokuskan pada kosakata teknis industri tahu, frasa penyambutan tamu, penjelasan proses produksi, serta komunikasi transaksi sederhana. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan kelancaran berbicara (fluency) sebesar rata-rata 40%. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan kepercayaan diri peserta dalam melakukan briefing dan memandu tur industri. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pelatihan bahasa Inggris berbasis kebutuhan industri secara signifikan mampu meningkatkan profesionalisme dan citra UMKM dalam menghadapi pasar global.
